GoPro's HD Motorsports HERO is the world's highest performance 1080p HD on-board video and time lapse photo camera. Developed for professional drivers & film producers, but available at a consumer price, the HD HERO line of wearable, gear-mountable cameras stand apart from the competition.

HD Video - 4 Options.

The HD HERO line of cameras offers 4 different HD resolutions, giving you 4 filming modes to capture the best video for any given activity, editing approach or computer system. Other cameras don't give you this much control over your video quality.

  • 1080p: 1920x1080 True HD featuring a 127° angle of view, 30 fps (15 Mbit/s), and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio

  • 960p: 1280x960 Ultra Wide and Tall HD featuring a 170° angle of view, 30 fps (12 Mbit/s), and 4:3 aspect ratio. See more of the action above and below than widescreen16:9 resolutions can show.

  • 720p: 1280x720 Ultra Wide HD featuring a 170° angle of view, both 30 fps (8 Mbit/s) and 60 fps (15 Mbit/s), and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio

  • WVGA = 848x480 pixels (16:9), 60 fps (8 Mbit/s) - HD quality @ small file sizes - great for everyday use.

Durability, Reliability, & Replaceable Parts

GoPro cameras are built to take a beating, so we designed our housing, lens cover, & mounts to be replaceable. Replacement lens kits are available for $20, so there's little worry of scratching the tempered glass lens while going for glory off-road. Trash the housing in a massive crash? No worries, replacement housings are available for $40. It's a GoPro...go for it.

Wireless Convenience, Up to 32GB SD Memory

No wires needed. The rechargeable 1100mAh lithium-ion battery (included) lasts for 2.5 hours of constant recording to an SD memory card. Battery can be recharged to 80% capacity in just 2 hours when plugged into a computer's USB port, or in 1 hour when plugged into a USB compatible wall or car charger. Camera takes up to 32GB SD memory card, which records up to 4 hours of 1080p video.

Camera can also be used while charging...critical for long road trips or races where you need to leave the camera rolling.

On-board Mounting Versatility

The HD Motorsports HERO comes ready to give professional race car drivers & production crews the ability to get any on-board shot, including flat mounts for dashboard or hood, curved mounts for helmets, & an industrial-strength suction cup mount to be used on windshield or side of car.

Additional mounts are sold separately, including a Roll-Bar Mount (off-road vehicles) & Handlebar Mounts (motorcycles & bikes).

We've invested more in the HD HERO camera's sound system than most companies spend on their entire camera development. You'll only be hearing the sounds of your sport, not the howl of the wind. How? Obsessive audio engineering and an understanding that good sound is as important as good video when covering motor sports makes the HD Motorsports HERO one of a kind.

5MP Photo Time Lapse & Motordrive Modes

No other on-board camera shoots both video & photos. GoPro HD HERO camera is different. GoPro lets you shoot hands-free, 5 megapixel photos automatically at 2 / 5 / 10 / 30 / and 60 second intervals until the batteries die or the SD card is full. Or, set it on triple shot motordrive to lock in specific action sequences. Of course, self-timer & single shot modes are available for traditional photo taking.

Waterproof to 180' / 60m

No other consumer camera can go deeper underwater than the HD HERO. Don't let a little water, or even a ton of water get in the way of getting the shot. Easily Re-Charge Camera, Drag-n-Drop Clips & Photos via USB

GoPro uses standard USB cable (included) to recharge the GoPro HD HERO camera, and output photo (5MP .JPG) & video files (.MP4). After a recording session, simply plug the camera into your computer with the included USB cable, and drag-n-drop your recordings onto your hard drive.
